One for the good guys

One of the greatest news stories I have read in quite some time:

As much as I agree with the verdict, and as glad as I am that these psychotic Bible thumpers will be living the rest of their lives cleaning up toddler vomit at carnivals, what does "intent to inflict emotional distress" mean? If someone can be charged with that, then I have some police reports to file. I wonder what the statute of limitations is... ?
